Description
This point is located on the west side of an island near the
west bank of the Mississippi. Unfortunately we had lost our map of the area and did not remember the geography. We visited the levee on the
Illinois side, hoping to reach the point indicated on the GPS (which we had set previously). It indicated a position a mile to the west of
the levee, which did not seem right. We took a few photos of candidate points.

The westernmost point in Illinois is actually on a small island west of the
large island shown in the photo.
